From hardship to the kitchen
The journey behind The Pickled Chef is deeply personal. Growing up, our founder was repeatedly told he would never amount to anything, a struggle that led down a turbulent road of fighting, drinking, and substance abuse. Everything changed the day he stood watching his friend cook. Seeing the craft, focus, and warmth ignited an instant spark. Stepping behind the stoves offered redemption and purpose, ultimately bringing The Pickled Chef to life right here on Lusty glaze beach

Our founder, Rich, has a story worth sharing, and our Chef’s Table gives guests the opportunity to hear it first-hand. During these special evenings, Rich welcomes diners, shares the journey behind the restaurant and talks about the ideas, people and flavours that have shaped what we do.
